Travel and Information for Participants

After arriving in Anchorage take a taxi to the University of Alaska Anchorage student housing / Gorsuch Commons. Look at the reservation confirmation letter for a detailed address.

The front desk is open 24/7 in the Gorsuch Commons, the same building as the cafeteria.

  • Breakfast is 7-8:30
  • Dinner is 5:30-7:00
  • Lunch will be in lecture hall (Integrated Science Building, ISB)

Registration Check-In is in the Gorsuch Commons Lobby, Monday from 7:00 to 8:30 AM and later at the lecture hall in the Integrated Science Building. A guide will be at the Gorsuch Commons at 8:30 AM to lead you to the lecture hall. If you need assistance or require transportation please let us know. Walking distance is about 0.75 km and will take about 10 minutes.

The Breakfast, Lunch and Dinners are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Tuesday night is the banquet. The banquet will be held at the Alaska Aviation Myuseum. A bus for the banquet will leave the Commons on Tuesday at 5:30 PM.

Friday we have breakfast only. Lunch will be on the boat. The bus will leave from the Gorsuch Commons at 10:00 AM and return about 5:30. Dinner is on your own. Saturday Breakfast is at the student cafeteria and brown bag lunch. The bus will be at Gorsuch Commons at 11:30 AM and return at 6:15. The dinner is on your own. Information concerning parking is in your confirmation letter.

Information for Speakers and Session Leaders

The longer presentations are 35 minutes total, with 30 minutes for presentation and 5 minutes for discussion.

The short talks are 15 minutes total, with 10 minutes for presentation and 5 minutes for discussion.

Morning speakers should see the computer operator in the lecture room (Integrated Science Bld. 120) at 8:30 AM to download your presentation. Evening speakers please see the computer operator at 12:30.

Breakfast and lunch will be covered by the conference. The registration fee includes the banquet on Tuesday, 6/18. Guests can purchase a banquet ticket for $35. There are some restaurants within a 10 minute walk from the university.
