This is the website homepage. This is where you will always start.

Before you will be able to do anything other than browse the database, you will have to create a username and password. To do this, select Login in the left hand menu and then select Request Login ID.
Once you do this, you will be presented with the screen below.
Fill out this information and click the button labeled, "Submit Request" In a few days, you will receive and email confirming your username and password. Once you have them, return to the website and click Login from the homepage.

You will be asked to enter your username and password as shown in the figure below.

You will now be able to add data to the database. Once you have logged in, the menu options in the left hand menu will change to appear similar to the figure below.

The only difference is that you now have an Add info menu option. When you hover your mouse over this menu, you will have the option to add a new Marriage, add a new individual or upload a Gedcom 6.0 file. Below are screenshots of the new Marriage and new Individual data entry screens.

If you have been given Administrator priveleges, you will have two extra menu options, Data Functions and User Functions. The user functions menu will give you the options of adding new useres, editing current users or deleting users. The Data menu will give you the options of adding data yourself, importing a Gedcom file from your computer, approving data submissions made by other people or importing Gedcom files that users have uploaded.
You can reach the tree view of the data in the database by clicking on "Search" in the lefthand menu and entering some data to search for as shown in the figure below.
Once you have clicked Submit Query, you will be presented with a list of people who match your specific query. Select the person you were thinking of by clicking on the link "Click here to root tree at this person" above the persons name. An example is shown below.

After clicking on the link for one of the people, you will be presented with a 'tree' as shown below. To change the number of generations shown, change the number in the box in the upper left of the tree and click the button next to it.

When you click on the arrow pointing to the left of the person on the far left, a box will appear below the box with a list of that persons children. If you click the link with one of the childrens names, that child will then become the 'root' of the tree. On the far right of the screen, you may see arrow that point to the right. This will move further back in the generations of this person. You will be able to see his parents. If no right arrow appears on the person to the far right of the screen, it means that we don't have information recorded about their parents. If no left arrow appears next to the person on the far left side of the screen, it means that we have no information about children of that person.
Within each box, the persons name is also a link. When you click the link for a person, they become the root person of the tree.
There are also two icons, one of a single person and one with three people. When you click on the single person, you will be taken to that persons personal information as show below.

You will be able to view their families and spouses as well as their children. You will be able to see their siblings and parents also. All of the blue or purple underlined information is links to those people or family records. If you click on the icon with three people in the tree view or on one of the links that says "Click here to open family record" then you will be taken to that particular family record. An example is shown below.
This view is similar to the individual view except you get the information for the family that this person was a child of. You can look at their siblings and parents as well as information about the parents wedding date and divorce date, if they exist.
